1946 Born in Tsubetu-cho, Abashiri-gun, Hokkaido, Japan
1965

After graduating from Tsubetu High School, started working at Yokohama post office.
1971

Went to the USA and studied at NY School of Visual Arts.Went to the USA and studied at NY School of Visual Arts.

1972

Came back to Japan. Started illustration works mainly in Tokyo.

1978

Received the ADC Award, which is given from Japan's top art directors for outstanding advertisements and designs of the year.

1979

Illustrated for the record jacket of Herbie Hancock.

1979

Illustrated for the record jacket of "SUMMER NERVES" by Ryuichi Sakamoto.

1983

His works were on "L'art Medical" of Temps Futurs Co. in France.

1986

Postcards of his works were sold worldwide from Wizard&Genus Co. in Switzerland.

1988

Presented works for an educational program of ACCESS NETWORK, a Canadian TV production company.

1989

Held a private exhibition "Smiling time" at PATER'S SHOP AND GALLERY.

1990

Handled the covers and the illustrations of "MOS MOS" , MOSburger's booklets until 1995. (Recorded a circulation of 800,000)

1993

Created the opening title of "Hirake! Ponkikki!" of FUJI TV.

1996

Moved to Tsubetu-cho, Abashirigun, Hokkaido to establish SHIGECHAN LAND.

1997


Purchased farmland and renovated the house, barn and cowsheds to exhibit objects and to open SHIGECHAN LAND.
Published "MANY AND VERY" from LITTLE MORE Co., Ltd.

1998

Published "SHIGECHAN LAND" from GAKKEN Co., Ltd.

1999

Held "Object Art Exhibition" at Toyama Citizen Plaza.

2001


Opened SHIGECHAN LAND on June 27th.
In December, held "Ohnishi Shigenari Exhibition" at PATER'S SHOP AND GALLERY in Tokyo.
