Alt-Sax Player in the SJC Jazz Orchestra

Musical Background

In his receptive age, he showed an interest the musical instruments, Violin, Ukulele, Shakuhachi, Xylophone, Wadaiko and so on, furnished at his family house in Takayama.
Started to attend YAMAHA Organ Lessons when he was in kindergarten. Played a stick drum and the trumpet when he was fifth grade and six grade in the primary school, respectively.
In his junior-high school age, belonged to the wind band and played the alto saxophone. The band won the golden prize at Gifu prefectural band contest. Meanwhile, played the bass in the Beetles copy band and became a star at the school festival.

In his high school age, he was a bassist in the hard rock band "Crimson Lizard" playing Deep Purple music and Uraih Heep music. Played the copy phrases of Phil Woods on the alto sax in the other band.
After graduation, he played the alto sax and clarinet in the company band.
He was an initial member of the SJC, "Swing Jazz Company" introduced by Nakamura Tokio, the leading jazz musician in Gifu. He took part in 1st to 4th Autumn Concerts.

After the long break (for 25 years), he went to the 30th Anniversary Autumn Concert '07 of the SJC's founding and he was strongly excited about big band jazz.
He has just come back to the SJC Jazz Orchestra in 2007.

When Not Playing / Working


- Enjoyed running about 10 to 20km on every weekend
- Participating local Half Marathon, (Seki City Marathon, Horado Kiwi Marathon)
- His best record [ 1:36 for 21.24km ]
- Challenging the Full Marathon participation
