Musical Background

Started to play the tuba in his jubior high school wind band and played the trombone in the high school wind band. He met Kameyama Issei who was his senior player at the school band and since the meeting, always he has followed Kameyama as a revered trombone player. After the graduation he joined the Gifu Wind Orchestra.

Eric Miyashiro at Furukawa Jazz Festival, 2000 Aug.

SJC's Founder
In 1977, he and his bandmates of Gifu Wind Orchestra who loved Jazz, formed the spin-out bigband, "SJC" (i.e. Swing Jazz Company).

When not playing, he enjoys playing golf.
